Beyond Instrumentation: An Intro to Desiccation Therapy

Program Overview

Mechanical instrumentation remains the cornerstone of nonsurgical periodontal therapy, yet complete biofilm disruption challenges remain. As our understanding of periodontal disease continues to evolve, clinicians are exploring adjunctive therapies that complement traditional treatment without replacing it.

This course introduces the science behind desiccation therapy, how desiccation works, appropriate clinical indications and contraindications, implementation into everyday periodontal therapy, patient communication strategies, and clinical case examples. Attendees will leave with a practical understanding of where desiccation therapy fits within evidence-based periodontal care and how it can enhance clinical efficiency and patient outcomes.
