Program Overview
This course is designed to equip dental professionals with information to support the management of patients at risk for caries. This course emphasizes the ADPIE (Assess, Diagnose, Plan, Implement, Evaluate) process of care, with a focus on Assessment, Diagnosis, and Planning. Participants will explore the latest early dental caries interventions and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of various treatment options. Attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of early caries management strategies to foster optimal oral health outcomes for adults and children.
By the end of this course, participants will be well-equipped to assess, diagnose, and plan effective management strategies for dental caries, laying a solid foundation for the second part of the series, which will delve into Implementation and Evaluation.

Emma Spencer, RDH has been in the dental field since 2006 beginning as an RDA in her home state of Alaska. She graduated from dental hygiene school in 2016 in Texas, and has had the privilege of working in many different types of clinics over the years including public health, large group practices, and small private practices.
She has also worked as an instructor for future RDAs, and is currently a clinical educator for Young Innovations. In hygiene school Emma remembers struggling with the concept of sharpening, and how daunting the task was. Never one to turn down an opportunity to share knowledge and teach others, Emma is excited to bring you this refresher course on sharpening.
