The Dental Hygiene Process of Care is built upon specific steps to deliver effective and appropriate periodontal therapy.  This course will review the Dental Hygiene Process of Care and examine how to follow through to treatment.  Each periodontal instrument has unique characteristics that lend themselves to use in specific sites.  This course is designed to assist you with instrument choices.

Objectives:

  • Review the Dental Hygiene Process of care, from Assessment through Documentation
  • Select the best instruments for use in various periodontal circumstances
  • List the consequences of using dull instruments for periodontal treatment.
  • Explain the importance of periodontal treatment evaluation to patient’s overall dental care.

Michelle Singley, RDH, EdM

Michelle has served in multiple positions of leadership in the American Dental Hygienists’ Association at the local, state, and national level and is the past recipient of the ADHA Student Advisor Award. Her extensive dental background includes dental hygiene clinical practice, pedodontic office management, dental hygiene education, and dental hygiene program administration.

Her favorite courses to teach were pre-clinical labs, especially the instrumentation modules. Michelle loves speaking to faculty, students, and practicing dental professionals through Young’s many innovative courses.
