Curodont: Innovation in Incipient Caries Remineralization

Peptide technology is based on a synthetic, pH controlled self-assembling peptide and an active ingredient in Curodont Repair Fluoride Plus. Curodont is a revolutionary new treatment option that stimulates the formation of hydroxyapatite crystals in noncavitated caries lesions, known as biomimetic hard tissue regeneration. This new approach for remineralization empowers dental providers to do more than just "watch and wait" and help their patients delay or avoid entering the "drill and fill" cycle of redo-dentistry, extending the life of their natural dentition. This course will review the strengths and limitations of current options for managing incipient caries and how they differ from Curodont. 

Objectives:

  • Discuss the benefits and limitations of current noninvasive caries treatment options 
  • Review the evidence for guided hard tissue regeneration using Curodont 
  • Demonstrate the clinical application protocol for Curodont

Dr. Jeanette MacLean, DDS

Dr. Jeanette MacLean is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, owner of Affiliated Children’s Dental Specialists in Glendale, Arizona, and mother of two.  She received her dental degree, with honors, from the University of Southern California in 2003 and completed her specialty training in pediatric dentistry in 2005 at Sunrise Children’s Hospital through the University of Nevada School of Medicine.  Dr. MacLean has become an internationally recognized advocate and expert on minimally invasive dentistry.
