Program Overview
This 90-minute course provides dental professionals with an evidence-based framework for preventing periodontal disease through risk assessment, patient education, and clinical interventions. Designed for periodontists and hygienists, the session explores the latest preventive strategies, oral-systemic health connections, and practical approaches to improving patient compliance. Through case discussions and interactive learning, participants will gain actionable tools to enhance preventive care in their practice and strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration.

Dr. Dragan is the recipient of the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation Tarrson Fellowship award, given to an outstanding periodontist for research. She has also received the Presidential Citation from the American Dental Education Association and was honored with the Tufts University Provost’s Award for Outstanding Teaching Service. The interdisciplinary team she led at TUSDM was honored by the Academy of Osseointegration with the Applied Clinical Science Research. Most recently, she received the Massachusetts Dental Society “10 Under 10” award for her contributions to the field of periodontology. Her clinical practice is limited to periodontology and implant dentistry at The Perio Studio, in downtown Boston, MA.

Paul A. Levi, Jr. went to Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (TUSDM), graduating in 1966. Graduating with his Certificate in Periodontology in 1971 they moved to Burlington, Vermont to live and establish a practice in periodontology. Paul received the Clinician of the Year award from the Massachusetts Dental Society and the Yankee Dental Congress (YDC) for his participation in lectures and workshops for the YDC. Paul retired from his private practice in September, 2019 In 2016, Paul, Natalie Jeong, Daniel Coleman, and Robert Rudy published The Non-Surgical Control of Periodontal Diseases: A comprehensive Handbook, published by Springer of Germany. In 2018 St. Lawrence awarded an Alumni Certificate for the many students from St. Lawrence who participated in this internship.
Paul continues to teach and do research. At this time in his life, dentistry is his hobby and passion and will continue to be that way for the foreseeable future.
