Turning Research into Real-World Clinical Decisions
Program Overview
The volume of published dental research continues to grow, yet translating scientific literature into clinical decision-making remains a challenge for many practitioners. This Fireside Chat features Dr. Irina Dragan and David Alexander in an interactive discussion focused on strengthening clinicians’ ability to critically evaluate scientific publications and apply findings appropriately in practice.
Participants will review key elements of research design, levels of evidence, bias recognition, and statistical interpretation relevant to dental literature. Emphasis will be placed on practical strategies for reading beyond the abstract, identifying methodological strengths and limitations, and determining clinical relevance. The session supports the integration of evidence-based principles into everyday patient care and professional decision-making.
