Born from Cancer Wound Care

Murnia’s history began in trying to help cancer patients that experience severe wounds due to toxicity of treatments. Focusing on one of the biggest side effects of cancer therapies, oral mucositis, the Murnia™ team has conducted clinical research with a purpose to prevent severe oral mucositis and radiodermatitis in clinical and observatory trials presented as e-posters at Oral Oncology Congress in 2019 and MASCC - Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (2022, 2024, 2025).

Mucositis: Double Blind Placebo Controlled Clinical Trial (Head and Neck Cancer Patients undergoing Radiation Therapy and Concomitant Therapy)

  • No Grade 3 or 4 Progression in Murnia™ cohort v. placebo.
  • No break in treatment.

Study Summary #2

“Radiodermatitis is one of the most frequently observed acute side effects of radiotherapy. It can have a negative impact on quality of life. The incidence of radiodermatitis with new technology and treatment modalities is not completely understood, but 95% of patients have reported some degree of integumentary system reaction to radiotherapy.

This study’s aim was to formulate and investigate the radiodermatitis prevention potential of a cream that contains beeswax, proprietary extract (Murnia™ Molecular Compound), cocoa butter, Hypericum perforatum oil and sweet almond oil instead of petroleum-based ingredients.”
